Our goal at John Wood Community College is to offer you an excellent educational
experience with emphasis on quality and pertinent curriculum offerings. To fulfill our goal, JWCC offers a variety of programs of the highest quality. You can complete the first two years of a baccalaureate degree and effectively transfer to a four-year college, acquire technical skills for entry into a career, improve skills needed for promotion and advancement in your job, or complete a high school equivalency diploma. The College offers instruction through a variety of styles and locations. We have traditional instruction offered in regular meetings in classrooms. We also have alternative styles: Open Learning Centers offer a self-paced style of learning and many courses are offered online over the Internet. Our centers are found throughout our district in Quincy, Pittsfield, Mt. Sterling, and the Ag Center near Perry, making the College accessible to all. Online courses can be completed anywhere you have access to a computer and the Internet. We encourage you to get involved in activities beyond your courses, because participation in an extracurricular activity will enhance your college experience. JWCC offers a host of student activities to supplement your classroom experiences. The College sponsors clubs, intramurals, student government, choir, jazz band, and intercollegiate athletics. We can help you be successful whenever and however you believe you need it. Seek assistance at JWCC through the many support services offered: tutoring, counseling, disability services, financial aid, or academic skills assessment. Our modern campus in Quincy, innovative teaching, outreach services
throughout the John Wood district, and extracurricular activities combine to
provide you with a complete and excellent college experience. JWCC is a good
place to start as you strive toward your educational goal and fulfill your
dreams. |
