Facilities
 

The 150-acre campus in Quincy is a beautiful, modern, fully developed campus located at the east edge of the city. The first building opened in 1998; additional buildings opened in 2002 and 2004; and the newest building on campus, the Student Activity Center, opened in 2006.

The campus offers the latest in technology, including a wireless environment; continuously updated computer technology and software; “smart” classrooms with Internet connectivity and access to video from VHS and DVD; a new Macintosh computer lab; and more computers for student use than any other educational facility in the area, with 32 different labs.

Highlights of the campus include:

• Student Activity Center with a gym that can seat 1,800 persons for special events
• State-of-the-art theater/auditorium with separate practice/rehearsal rooms
• Greenhouse for the horticulture program and other academic programs
• JWCC/Spring Valley Trails and Arboretum

Satellite centers include:

• Agricultural Education Center and the James L. Reed Swine Management Center near Perry. These facilities provide hands-on educational opportunities for students in the agriculture, animal science, agribusiness, and swine management programs.
• Pittsfield Education Center, Pittsfield. This center offers baccalaureate transfer as well as career/technical programs, GED classes and literacy tutoring, and student services.
• JWCC/Dot Foods Learning Center, Mt. Sterling. Since 1996, JWCC has had an agreement with Dot Foods for the operation of a learning center in one of its buildings.

In addition,

• Uptown Adult Education Learning Center is located in the Historic Quincy Business District.
• Truck Driver Training program is offered at a site provided by a local trucking firm.
• Some career/technical programs are also offered on-site and in cooperation with area industries and agencies.
