Biology

AS Transfer Degree

The curriculum for the transfer associate in science degree with an emphasis in the biological sciences is designed to prepare students with a broad background in biology. Biology is the scientific study of all living organisms. Students transferring to a four year institution may specialize further in any one of the following areas: anatomical sciences, bioengineering, biology, biophysics, botany, ecology, ethology and evolution, genetics and developmental biology, microbiology, physiology or zoology.

All of the courses at JWCC are taught by people who are focused upon teaching. There are no graduate assistants teaching; there are no classes held in lecture halls with 300 students trying to hear a professor who uses a microphone and is never available after class. The faculty make themselves available to the students before and after class.
