John Wood Community College is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

TUTORS FOR UPWARD BOUND AND EDUCATIONAL TALENT SEARCH PROGRAMS - posted May 5, 2008
This position is responsible for providing tutoring and mentoring to Upward Bound and/or Educational Talent Search students in one-on-one or small group settings; obtaining academic information from students’ teachers and parents; and monitoring and evaluating students’ progress.  Travel to one or more junior high and high schools in the JWCC district is required.

Supervisor of Educational Talent Search Program - posted April 30, 2008
Provide the daily direction of the Educational Talent Search program. ETS is a grant funded Department of Education TRIO program.  It promotes the completion of secondary and entry into postsecondary education for district students who primarily are first generation and/or meet income guidelines, ages 11-27 years.  The responsibilities include but are not limited to: identifying, recruiting and selecting program participants; providing direct services such as career exploration, study skills improvement, and self-esteem building activities; providing postsecondary education enrollment assistance; implementing campus visits, financial aid workshops, job shadowing opportunities and other designated activities; providing career and educational counseling; and record keeping.  Also includes training, supervising and evaluating the Educational Talent Search staff.
