John Wood Community College is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

Adjunct faculty: Horticulture Program - posted October 1, 2008
This position is responsible for teaching one class in the Horticulture program, either HRT 180 Woody Ornamental Plants OR HRT 260 Pest Management.  Class will be held during daytime hours.

HRT 180 Woody Ornamental Plants is a three credit hour class that is designed to teach students to identify and select woody plant materials for use in the landscape.  Emphasis is placed on plants commonly used in landscaping design.  Teach growth habits and site requirements and identify plants by their characteristic morphology.  Class is 2 lecture hours and 2 lab hours.  Class meets Mondays and Wednesdays for lecture from 8:00 am-8:50 am and for a lab on Mondays from 1:00 pm to 2:50 pm.

HRT 260 Pest Management is a three credit hour class that is a study in understanding the classification of pesticides, pesticide labels and labeling, human pesticide poisoning, pesticides in the environment, safe handling of pesticides, application equipment and calibration, and pesticide laws and regulations.  Also identifies common ornamental, turf and greenhouse pests.  Class meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 10:15 am for lecture, there is no lab.

Floor Maintenance Technician - posted September 26, 2008
The primary responsibility is to provide floor maintenance.  Must ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.  Must follow workplace safety guidelines.  Hours are third shift which are 11 pm to 7:30 am.
