Jim began duties at JWCC as a part-time Security Officer in August of 2005 and brings with him several years of law enforcement and security experience.  Jim was born and raised in the Chicago area.  Upon graduation from high school Jim enlisted for three years in the U.S. Army and served as a Military Police Officer with duty in South Viet Nam & West Germany.  Upon discharge he returned home and attended Thornton Community College.  Jim then re-enlisted in the U.S. Army for eight more years with duty in South Korea, West Berlin, the Marshall Islands and Minnesota.  Upon discharge Jim remained in Minnesota and obtained employment as a police officer with the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.  Jim remained with the VA for twenty years, the last ten as a Sergeant before retiring in 2000.  After retiring Jim moved to Quincy where for the past several years he has volunteered at the Illinois Veterans Home.
