THEFT PREVENTION

  • Never leave your personal property (e.g. identification, wallet, checkbook, jewelry, and camera) unattended. Don’t carry large amounts of cash and never flash money in public view.

  • Respect and ensure the integrity of security on-campus. Never prop doors open. This not only places your personal safety and valuables in jeopardy, but also those of others as well.

  • Have your personal valuables engraved with your name and I.D. number. This makes recovery of property much easier and simplifies proof of ownership.

  • If you leave valuables in your car, make sure to lock the car and place the valuables out of public view in the trunk.

  • Report lost, misplaced, or stolen property immediately to the Office of Risk Management & Security.
