Guidelines for Production of Each Subcommittee Report

Each report should include the follow sections which address specific recommendations from the Site Visit Report:

1. Purpose:  Describe the purpose and goals of the particular assessment component.  Where does it fit into the assessment plan?

2. Faculty involvement:  Describe the role and level of faculty involvement.

3. Student involvement:  Describe the role and level of student involvement.

4. Structure:  Describe the committee and/or personnel responsible for overseeing that the assessment process is carried and completed.  Include mention of forms and timetables.

5. Clarity of the goal:  Describe how clear the goals are and how well measurable outcomes have been defined for the departments conducting assessments. For General Education Objectives, describe the clarity of goals of Gen Ed and the transfer departments.

6. Regularity of data collection:  Describe the cycle of assessment and how many times it has been completed.

7. Completion of the feedback loop:  Describe the feedback loop, i.e. how the data is returned to the departments. Describe, with specifics, how assessment data has been used to inform and make changes.

8. The subcommittees’ critique of the process.  Identify strengths and weakness of the assessment process.  Describe what has worked and what hasn’t worked about the process.  (It’s possible and appropriate that your conclusions or recommendations will lead to changes in part of the process of assessment of Student Learning at JWCC.)
