The Center for Effective Nonprofits serves nonprofit organizations in west central Illinois, northeast Missouri, and southeast Iowa. However, many CEN services are accessible to any nonprofit organization.
The Center for Effective Nonprofits assists, promotes, represents and strengthens community organizations as we improve the quality of life for those we serve.

Services
Non-Profit Management Certificate

This new online program is designed to strengthen the budgeting, finance, board & volunteer development, fundraising, leadership and marketing skills necessary for individuals and organizations to achieve success in their communities. Courses are self-paced and completely web-based, which means participants have access around the clock, allowing them to progress at their own pace. The courses contain video, interactive exercises, real-world examples, and case studies making them both informative and fun. Learners can raise questions with an “Ask the Expert” feature and will receive a response within 24 hours. Participants who successfully complete our online certificate program are awarded 24 Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) International Continuing Education Points.
Professional Development/Networking Series
CEN sponsors workshops on a variety of topics. These sessions provide networking opportunities and information with topics of interest for nonprofit staff.

West Central Illinois Philanthropy Center (WCIPC)
The WCIPC consists of online databases and print information relevant to nonprofit organizations. It is located at John Wood Community College's Learning Center and is free and open to the public during regular library hours. Professional Development - CEN sponsors workshops on a variety of topics. View upcoming educational opportunities. Agency assistance - CEN provides one-on-one support for your nonprofit.
