Conferences and fairs typically offered on an annual basis by the College are the Gem and Mineral Show, the Lifelong Learning Conference, Shattering the Myths on Aging, Early Childhood Mini-Conference, and the Summit on Violence.
Shattering the Myths About Aging – The annual conference explores the differences in the generations and discusses ways to mesh the younger and older generations. This conference is sponsored by JWCC, Blessing Hospital, Good Samaritan Home, Illinois Department on Aging, Sunset Home and West Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging.
Early Childhood Mini-Conference
– The annual conference offers workshops that assist child care workers,
teachers and students with new ideas and strategies for caring for children, and
how to select and organize various activities for children.
This conference is co-sponsored by JWCC and West Central Child Care Connection.
Regional Summit on Violence – The conference is sponsored by a sub-committee of the Adams County Family Violence Council and addresses the cause and effect of violence, is multidisciplinary in approach, considers a broad range of theories and dimensions and attracts professionals, consumers and academia throughout the Midwest.
