JWCC STUDENT ART SHOW

All entries will be on display February 1– 27, 2008

Open to all area youth! Cost to enter is just $7 for 2 pieces of work for students in grades 1-12. One single work may be entered for $5. Winners will be announced at the awards reception scheduled February 7, 2008, 6:30 p.m.

CATEGORIES:

Watercolors/Tempera

  • Grades 1-4
  • Grades 5-8
  • Grades 9-12

Oils/Acrylics

  • Grades 1-4
  • Grades 5-8
  • Grades 9-12

Drawing (pen and ink, pastel, color pencil, pencil)

  • Grades 1-4
  • Grades 5-8
  • Grades 9-12

Three-Dimensional (size limit is 2 ft. x 2 ft.)

  • Grades 1-4
  • Grades 5-8
  • Grades 9-12

Miscellaneous Hanging Art (collage, scratchboard, mosaic, computer-generated art, clay, wood, fiber, metal, ceramics, block printing, etc.)

  • Grades 1-4
  • Grades 5-8
  • Grades 9-12

RULES:

  • · Entries must be brought to JWCC Paul Heath Center, 1301 South 48th Street, Quincy, IL, between the hours of 8 a.m.-4 p.m. January 14-17, 2008. 

  • · Hanging art must be on paper or canvas.

  • · Students may enter artwork in more than one category.

  • · Students are limited to two entries

  • · Size limit is 24” X 26”.  No designated theme.

  • · All artwork must have been created within the past 12 months.

  • · All entries must be matted and ready for hanging with a secure wire across the back.

  • · Student’s must complete an entry form.

  • · Student’s information must be attached to each artwork entry.

  • · The utmost care will be taken, but JWCC will not be responsible for damaged or lost art work.

  • · John Wood reserves the right to refuse work that is potentially offensive.

  • · Students may enter individually or a teacher may enter works from a class.

  • · Teachers must provide an inventory list with student’s name, category, and title.

  • · Entries must be picked up on February 28, between the hours of 3-5 p.m.

  • · Artists must leave art up for the entire display period.

 

 

 

The show will hang in the Mary Ellen Orr Auditorium
Gallery and near the art studio (D152) in the Heath Center
All entries will be on display February 1– 27, 2008.
