Adult Education/GED

Do you want to earn your GED or improve your skills in writing, math, reading, science or social studies?

Melissa

"Getting my GED was the happiest day of my life. Now I say, if you're going to dream, why not dream big?"

- Melissa, 2008 GED Graduate and Current JWCC Student

FREE instructional services are offered to JWCC district residents at various times, on an individualized basis. Books and other instructional materials are loaned to students in the program without charge. Enrollment is open throughout the year.

The Adult Education program operates year-round so students are able to register any time. The services of this program are FREE to eligible JWCC District residents who lack basic reading, writing, math, job-seeking and job retention skills and/or who do not have high school diplomas. This program is also open to those who have not mastered English as a second language or seek preparation to take the GED (General Education Development) exam.

Students enrolled in JWCC's individualized adult education program have proven to be highly successful. Participants are first assessed for placement; then they work at their own individualized pace with instructor assistance. Students proceed through various levels until their goals are met. Instructional materials are loaned to students in the program without charge. Assistance with transportation cost is available.
