Regional Summit on Violence

JWCC will provide Continuing Education for the 10th Annual Regional Summit on Violence to be held March 27th at the Quincy University hall of Fame Room.

The seminar entitled "Inside the Black Box: Understanding Victims' Behavior." This summit will focus on how the effects of trauma govern a victim's thinking/behavior, not just at the time of the event but in years to come. Victims of emotional and physical abuse sometimes react in ways that are unexpected or difficult to understand. It is important for all responders and community service agency workers to be educated and able to handle these situations in an effective and productive manner.

The staff and leaders of many area agencies understand our communities will benefit from a coordinated response to family violence, and they are working together to make this summit worthwhile.

A brochure will be available at a later date and may be obtained by calling Brooke Baldwin, Advocacy Network for Children, (217) 223-2272.

Personal interest/Non-credit offerings are not funded with tax dollars and are self-supporting. John Wood Community College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, sex, religion, age, disability, or other factors prohibited by law.
