It’s easy, it’s fun, and there are endless possibilities for using it. Learn to make a peyote stitch cuff bracelet with lots of bling. The first evening students will learn the stitch and get a good start on weaving the bracelet. Between sessions, students will finish the basic weaving. During the second class, students will end the bracelet, add the clasp and explore additional peyote stitch variations. Some experience with a needle and thread is helpful but not required. A supply fee of $25 is payable to the instructor at the start of the first class. |

Enjoyable astronomy does not require the use of expensive instruments. The primary focus will be given to observations that can be made with the human eye. Beginners and seasoned astronomers are all welcome to revisit Saturn and many other sites in the sky. Telescopes will be provided by the instructor. If weather permits, about half of this class session will be held outside, so it is recommended that students dress appropriately and bring a lawn chair. Binoculars or telescopes also would be helpful, but are not required. |

The ancient process creates sculptures out of clay to glaze then fire outside. During week one, you will create at least one or two sculptures. During week two, you will glaze your sculptures. At week three, you will remove sculptures from the kiln and drop them into a bucket of fire to create your finished project. A supply fee of $10 is payable to the instructor the first class meeting. Instructor Becky Butler earned a bachelor’s degree in studio art from Quincy University. She is a practicing artist working in a variety of media, from pastels and silk to clay and paper. She has taught for the past ten years for local art centers, JWCC, and area schools. |

Objectives of this course include understanding retirement plan distributions, minimizing taxes on IRA’s and other retirement plans and creating multi-generational tax deferred accounts. Instructor Dixie Kindred is a certified Tai Chi Instructor and has been teaching Tai Chi for over four years. She is certified in several Tai Chi for Health programs designed by medical doctor and Tai Chi gold medalist, Paul Lam. |
