The Annual Gem & Mineral Show is held in September on the JWCC Quincy campus and is an excellent opportunity for gem and fossil-enthusiasts to meet the experts, get a close look at the latest finds, learn about the geological history of our area and even purchase some rare specimens and tools. Each year the Gem City Rock Club hosts an educational Children's Day for students in grades 3rd - 6th. Students and teachers get a chance to purchase inexpensive rock kits and tour the show with demonstrations from the gem experts of our region.
This year's Gem and Mineral Show will be held at the lower level of JWCC's Paul Heath Center on September 19, 2009 from 9am to 4pm.

- Displays of gems, minerals, fossils, artifacts
- Demonstrations of rock hobby
- Dealers with super specimens and jewelry
- Machinery and hobby tools
