Trips and Tours

Refund/Payment Policy:

Payments for trips/tours must be made at least 30 days prior to the departure date. No refunds will be issued within 30 days of the scheduled trip. Registrations are transferrable to another individual with prior written request for the originally booked trip/tour.

Quilt Show in Paducah, Kentucky

Paducah is a mecca for quilters and quilt enthusiasts during the American Quilter’s Society Annual Quilt show & contest each April.

Paducah is a mecca for quilters and quilt enthusiasts during the American Quilter’s Society Annual Quilt show & contest each April. Join us for this three day, two night trip to the show at the Paducah Expo Center. You will have the opportunity to view 400 quilts from across the US and around the world, visit 400 vendor booths, and more. You can also choose from over 100 classes, lectures, and special events to attend.

The trip will also consist of stops at Hancock Fabrics, The Museum of the American Quilter’s Society, the Rotary Club Antique Quilt Show, Eleanor Burns tent show at the fairgrounds , and Kentucky Oaks Mall for shopping and a chance to visit some other quilting merchants.

This trip departs on Wednesday, April 21 around 6:30am and returns on Friday, April 23 around 7:30pm. The cost of the trip is $389 for a double occupancy room and $489 for a single occupancy room. The cost includes two night’s stay at Harrah’s Hotel & Casino in nearby Metropolis, IL, ticket to the quilt show and museum, and charter bus transportation. All meals will be on your own.

Tunica, Mississippi

Join us for a fun packed weekend as we travel to Tunica, Mississippi. Trip highlights include Rivergate Festival, casinos, shopping, the Tunica River Park, and the Tunica Queen riverboat. Visit www.tunicatravel.com for more information on Tunica.

This trip departs Friday, April 16th and returns on Sunday, April 18th. Cost of the trip is $285 per person for double occupancy and $350 for single occupancy room. Cost includes charter bus transportation and two night’s stay at the Gold Strike Resort, voted best hotel room in Tunica two years in a row. Everyone will receive a $20 credit to be used at on-site restaurants. All meals are on your own.

America’s Beauty Show (Midwest Hair Show)
Chicago, IL

America’s Beauty Show, for more than 80 years, has drawn tens of thousands of salon professionals from around the country and throughout the world. The event is co-located with America’s Expo for Skin Care & Spa and is produced by the working professionals who make up Cosmetologists Chicago and America’s Beauty Network.

America’s Beauty Show is open to licensed salon professionals only. The trip departs Saturday, March 27 and returns Monday, March 29, 2010.

Cost includes two nights at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, entry to the hair show, and charter bus transportation.

All participants have the option to purchase a ticket to the Second City Comedy show on Sunday evening for an additional $25. All meals are on your own.

Kayak Mark Twain Lake

Kayak Mark Twain Lake - May 21, 2010ACA certified instructor Kevin P. Dempsey will introduce you to the basics of safe kayaking while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Mark Twain Lake. After kayaking on the lake, enjoy lunch at the Rustic Oak Cabin Steakhouse. Participants must be physically capable of kayaking, have the ability to swim, and be in good health. All equipment will be provided. Cost of lunch is on your own.

This trip will take place on Friday, May 21st. We will depart from the JWCC campus at 6:45am and return around 3:00pm. Cost is $60.
