Paraprofessional Testing

The State Board of Education has endorsed four assessment options for establishing a candidate’s qualifications as a paraprofessional educator under the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB).  One of the options includes the ACT WorkKeys test of Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information and Writing, and the ACT Instructional Support Inventory with minimum scores as follows:

Applied Mathematics - 4; Reading for Information - 4; Writing - 3 (proctored by JWCC); Instructional Support Inventory - 150 (completed by a supervisor or member of personnel)

In order to assist you in filling these requirements, JWCC—being an ACT Certified Center—is offering the following ACT WorkKeys testing dates:

Monday, September 20, 2010 (4 - 7 PM; registrations and payments due September 2)
Tuesday, November 16, 2010 (4 - 7 PM; registrations and payments due October 28)

Requirements to hold test:  minimum of 10 and a maximum of 30 registrants!

Cost for entire exam is $75.00.

Drop/Cancellation Policy
Due to an increase in the number of last minute cancellations and registered participants failing to show up for the exam, the following drop/cancellation policy will be enforced.  Participants must register and pay for the WorkKeys exam by the registration deadline date.  No refunds will be issued for any reason after the deadline date.

All tests will be held at the Quincy campus, 48th and Harrison.

Call 217-641-4971 to register.  For specific questions regarding the testing requirements, call 217-641-4930.
