What should I do to stay on top of my courses?

There are several things you should do to successfully complete your Open Learning course(s):

Use the pacing chart in your course syllabus to stay on track.
Let your instructor know if you must be absent. If your absence is unplanned, call and leave a message for your instructor.
Get extra help if you need it. Talk to your instructor. Remember that tutoring may be available.
If you fall behind your completion schedule, see your instructor to make arrangements to get on track again.
Some people study better with friends. You may want to find someone else in the same course and work together. We encourage this "buddy system" for those who learn better with a group. Your instructor can assist you in finding other students at a similar point in the course.

Can I get help if I fall behind in my courses or it I just need some additional help?

If you make a good effort, have contacted your instructor for help, and still need help, tutoring may be available. Before you get frustrated or think of quitting, please ask for help! Ask your instructor or call the Support Services Center at 641-4340 for more information.
