What Is the JWCC High School/College Dual Credit Program?

It's a program that allows high school students to earn grades and credit from both high school and JWCC (dual credit) following successful completion of a college-level course. Both future college enrollment options and current high school academic standing will be impacted by dual credit grades.  Dual credit is worked in different formats.
Dual Credit Courses . . .

  • are offered at high schools in the JWCC District. The classes are taught by JWCC faculty or JWCC- qualified high school instructors.

  • can be transfer courses and/or vocational courses. Available dual credit courses vary from high school to high school.

  • increase the range of course options in high school. The courses can also smooth the transition to college or vocational school.

  • shorten the path to a degree or career. Students can fulfill some high school and college requirements concurrently.

How do I enroll ?
  1. Receive permission from your high school to enroll in the JWCC High School/College Dual Credit Program.
  2. Complete the registration process.
  3. Satisfy the tuition requirements
  4. In order to withdraw from a JWCC course, you must officially drop the course during the withdrawal period established by the JWCC Registrar's Office, or you will receive a failing grade.
