Introduction to Fire Suppression * FSC-052
Development of the knowledge needed by the firefighter on the fire ground.  This course will expand on training received from the department at drill sessions.  It is also designed to give the fundamental training necessary to the new firefighter and the student just entering fire science who has no knowledge of the tools, equipment, and strategies essential to the profession.

Continuation of FSC 090.  The standard and advanced course will work with the training officer regarding duties, program, facilities, administration, and leadership.  Meets the approval of the Illinois State Fire Marshal.

Fire Service Management FSC-092
Intended for company officers or those seeking promotion to that position.  Introduces the student to the principles of personnel management through the use of effective leadership techniques.  Topics include overview of fire service as an organization and the officer's role in it; interpersonal communications; personality typing; skill development; leadership techniques; group dynamics; and principles of fire company management.  course will provide certification by the Illinois State Fire Marshal's Office in Fire Management I.
