Biological Sciences
Scientists
study all aspects of living organisms, emphasizing the relationship of
animals and plants to their environment. Many scientists enter the field of
research and development, while others teach in college or university
settings.
The curriculum for the associate in science degree with an emphasis in the
biological sciences is designed to prepare the student with a broad
background in biology. Biology is the scientific study of all living
organisms. Students transferring to a four year institution may specialize
further in any one of the following areas: anatomical sciences,
bioengineering, biology, biophysics, botany, ecology, ethology and
evolution, genetics and developmental biology, microbiology, physiology or
zoology.
