Computer-Aided Design
Associate in Applied Science

64 Semester Hours

David Leonard leads a CAD classComputer technology has revolutionized the processes used in drafting and design. Processes that were formerly performed by hand can now be done using computers and is referred to as CAD (computer-aided design). The advances in technology in this area allow CAD technicians to generate precise drawings with more efficiency than ever before. CAD technicians are able to harness computer technology to give engineers, architects, manufacturers, and others a different perspective and understanding of the design process. An area that has emerged over the last few years, CAD is projected to be a profession with excellent job growth potential in the coming years.

CAD technicians need to be skilled in several areas.
