This two-year program is for new and current Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) employees wishing to expand educational and career opportunities by obtaining an associate in applied science degree. The AAS in corrections with an emphasis for youth supervisor builds on knowledge, skills and specialized training IDOC recruits receive at the Department’s Training Academy and that current employees receive through annual continuing education. The curriculum provides opportunity for those in the field of corrections to enhance job skills and improve advancement potential.
