Physics
Physicists
describe in mathematical terms the structure of the universe and interaction
of matter and energy and develop theories that describe the fundamental
forces and laws of nature. Applying the basic laws governing phenomena such
as gravity, electromagnetism, and nuclear interaction leads to discoveries
and innovations. The program is intended to give the student a survey of the
fundamental physical concepts that are the foundation of all the sciences.
Further, the curriculum is designed to complement the sets of more
specialized programs for the student interested in pursuing careers in the
field. This experience will be enhanced through the use of
microcomputer-based laboratories.
