Day and evening truck driver training sessions are both available!
John Wood Community College is constantly striving to offer our Truck Driver
Training students the most complete learning experience possible. A recent
addition to our training tools is the GE Capital I-SIM “TranSimVSTM”
driving simulator.
The TranSimVSTM offers an immersive driver training experience in a computer-controlled simulator. With the simulator, we are able to program literally hundreds of power train combinations, as well as loads, grades, weather, and other variables a driver might encounter. The instructor can also program a variety of driving scenarios including urban, rural, highway, suburban, freeway, and off-road. Programmable weather combinations include clear and dry, rain, snow, fog, and wind.
Combined with our fleet of industry-standard tractors, and 53 foot trailers, the TranSimVSTM helps ensure our students receive the most thorough and up-to-date training available.
