Barbara Ann Burrows, Ph.D.Barbara Ann Burrows, Ph.D.
Provost (Campus President)
Marshalltown Community College
Marshalltown, Iowa

CURRENT POSITION:
Since 2003. Marshalltown is the largest of four units of the Iowa Valley Community College District. Dr. Burrows reports to the District Chancellor. She supervises campus operations; this includes developing and administering a $9 million budget, a $250,000 athletic budget, a $350,000 housing budget, and a multi-million dollar bookstore budget. She also supervises the chief academic officer, faculty, and student services personnel, and she leads public relations and fund-raising efforts.

Marshalltown is a comprehensive community college with 47 full-time and more than 60 part-time faculty, more than 60 professional staff members, 10 intercollegiate athletic teams, student housing for 130 residents, food service and a campus bookstore that serve over 1,750 students annually. Dr. Burrows developed a strategic planning process for the district; led the development of the Marshalltown Education Partnership; established a Learning Initiative Steering Committee; strongly campaigned for the passage of the District’s $35,000,000 general obligation bond referendum by helping create marketing materials, speaking to community organizations, writing articles, and calling hundreds of people; and managed four building projects.
