About our Basketball Program
After just 15 years of intercollegiate basketball, the John Wood Community College Trail Blazers has experienced much success. In our third season, the basketball team earned a berth at the National Junior College Tournament and placed seventh overall and ended the season with a 25-11 record. The following year, the Trail Blazers repeated as Region XXIV Champions, earned another berth in the NJCAA National Tournament finishing 5th in the nation and ended the season with a 32-4 record. In addition, the program has sent numerous players to the NCAA division I and II levels earning full scholarships to compete at the next level. We take great pride in our accomplishments on the court as well as in the classroom. Every year, we strive to recruit the best people, students, and players to represent our college, community, and program in a first class manner.
