Student Advising Services
Prior to initial registration at
JWCC, each student should meet with an advisor for assistance in
developing an academic plan to meet his or her educational
goals.
An advisor will continue to work with the student during the
remainder of the student's career at JWCC, meeting with the
student as often as necessary.
Advisors assist students with selecting careers, helping students assess their values, interests and abilities. Those who are undecided about a career are encouraged to take part in special programs designed to allow students to take courses useful in a variety of fields while at the same time receiving career counseling.
Each John Wood student works with an advisor to develop an academic plan and schedule classes to meet his or her educational goals. Advisors assist students with selecting careers, helping students assess their values, interests, and abilities. Because of the large number of JWCC students, it is best to have an appointment; however, during most operation hours, a student can meet with a walk-in advisor.
