About the Program

JWCC offers  an Associate in Applied Science Degree with an emphasis in Surgical Technology. 

The 64 credit hour AAS degree includes classroom, lab, and clinical education to provide additional knowledge and a broader perspective of the role of the Surgical Technologist in healthcare today.

First semester focuses on general education courses to prepare the student for second semester program specific courses.

Second semester courses cover the basic knowledge and skills necessary to prepare the student to function in the clinical area, as well as provides courses which emphasize surgical procedures and clinical experiences.

Students are required to sit for the National Certification Exam (CST) upon successful completion of the program.
