John Wood Community College is an accredited, open-admission, comprehensive, public community college located in Quincy, Illinois. We offer a number of degree and certificate options to meet the needs of our students. The associate of arts and associate of science degrees are designed to serve students wanting to complete a bachelors degree at a four year institution. We also offer an associate of applied science degree and numerous job training certificate programs. The transfer degree is typically the degree of choice for our military students.
The college offers a full array of support programs and services available to make your John Wood education adaptable to your life style whether you are pursuing the degree on-campus as a commuter student or off-campus as a distance learner.
To earn an associate of arts or associate of science degree you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Complete at least 64 semester credit hours or more toward a specific degree with a GPA of 2.0 (4.0 scale) or better.
- Complete 15 of the last 30 credit hours of the degree through John Wood. These courses may be taken on-campus, from our distance learning offerings or from a combination of these options.
- Satisfy the college's General Education requirement.
- Successfully complete all courses by the graduation processing date and satisfactorily meet all financial obligations to the college.
