This class will investigate the language and imagery in the first three chapters of Genesis. We will examine ways the text communicates using technical language: mountain and garden, temple and priesthood, trial and testing, and man and woman. The ways in which this matrix of ideas sets the stage for the rest of the Jewish and Christian sacred texts will be explored.
