COMMUNITY BASED OUTREACH & CONTINUING EDUCATION - POLICIES & REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Registration: Payment in full must be received before students are officially registered in a class. Credit or debit card payments are the easiest and most efficient way to secure your registration.
Registration Confirmation: Registration is confirmed after payment is completed. Students will receive a course schedule by mail or email with class details.
Fees: Fees must be paid in full at the time of registration or at least four business days prior to the start of the class.
Cancellation: Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment standards are subject to cancellation. Community Based Outreach reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes, and will notify students as soon as possible. Students enrolled in a cancelled class will be given a full refund.
Class Locations: Unless otherwise noted, all classes are held at the JWCC Quincy Campus in the Paul Heath Community Education & Fine Arts Center, 48th Street. The specific classroom location is detailed on the student course schedule.
Refund Policy: Students who notify the Community Based Outreach office of their desire to drop or inability to attend a class no later than 48 hours prior to the class start date will be provided a full refund. A full refund will be provided if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment, instructor cancellation, or inclement weather. No other refunds will be provided.
Inclement weather: When the college is closed, or classes are cancelled due to inclement weather, Community Based Outreach classes also will be cancelled. If classes are cancelled, local radio and TV stations will be notified, a message will be placed on jwcc.edu and an announcement will be recorded on the JWCC Weather Line (217.641.4100). Community Based Outreach makes every effort to ensure that students are aware of cancellations related to inclement weather.
Accommodations: Participants with physical disabilities requiring special accommodations should indicate needs when registering. JWCC will do what it can to meet your needs.
Non Payment: If you register for a class, and do not pay course fees in full prior to the class start date, a hold will be placed on your account. This prevents registration in any other JWCC classes, including credit-bearing or noncredit classes, until payment is made in full.
