John Wood Community College’s Psychology students will host “Canstock 2017”, Wednesday, April 26 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the cafeteria on the main campus in Quincy at 48th and Harrison.
The event is sponsored by psychology students of Danelle Batterton, JWCC adjunct psychology instructor, as a class project for the spring semester. Performances will start at 3 p.m. and feature Liz Bentley and Rachel Cooper. An open mic will follow for attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Admittance to the event is a non-perishable item for JWCC’s student food pantry. Individuals who bring more than one item will receive a raffle ticket for each additional item. Following the concert a raffle for gift certificates to local restaurants will be held. Canstock t-shirts are also available for sale, with proceeds used to purchase additional non-perishable items. During the spring and fall semesters psychology students hosts a variety of events to help stock local food pantries. Some events included “Pack the Pumpkin”, a movie night, and game night. Each event provides the community a way to donate non-perishable food items for local food pantries.John Wood Community College Campus
