The John Wood Community College Concert Choir will perform at St. John’s Church on Sunday, April 21 at 7 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted to support the JWCC music program’s spring tour.  St. John’s church is located at 7th and Hampshire in Quincy.

The performance at St. John’s is the only one each year that features JWCC’s Concert Choir, allowing audiences to preview the group’s selections for the annual spring tour.

The Concert Choir will perform such pieces as “O Vos Omnes” by Tomas Luis de Victoria, “Hallelujah, Amen” by Georg Gottfried Wagner, “Embraceable You” by George and Ira Gershwin, “Never Gonna Walk This Journey Alone” by Greg Gilpin, “Castle on a Cloud” and “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables and “Twa Tanbou” by Sydney Guillaume.

The annual Spring Concert will be held Tuesday, April 30 at 7 p.m. in Mary Ellen Orr Auditorium in the Paul Health Community Education and Fine Arts Center on the Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison.  Admission is $3, payable at the door.  All students are admitted free of charge to the Spring Concert, but donations will also be accepted in order to support the program’s spring tour.

The group is under the direction of Professor of Music and Chairman of the Division of Fine Arts Gary DeClue.  Rhonda Basinger is associate director.
