Dean and Janice Rockwell Art Exhibit

at 8:00 am

John Wood Community College’s Heath Center Art Gallery will feature artwork by Dean and Janice Rockwell of Macomb, Ill. The exhibit is on display now through February 18. The gallery is located in the lower level of the Paul Heath Fine Arts and Community Education Center on the Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison.

Dean M. Rockwell retired as a high school biology teacher in 2002 and turned his attention to pottery and ceramic arts. Many of his pieces exhibit the influence of biology as twisted by his sense of humor. He was juried in as an Illinois Artisan with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources in 2005, and his work can be found in galleries and shops throughout Illinois and Iowa, as well as private and public collections.

Janice K. Rockwell retired as an art teacher and school counselor. Her works can be described as abstract realism, and she thrives on variety and tries to approach each piece freshly. Her works have been in regional and national juried exhibits, and she was recognized as an Illinois Artisan with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

The public is invited to view the artwork during regular college hours (8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.)  Some pieces are for sale. For more information about the Heath Center Art Gallery contact Christine Wiewel at
