Illinois River Watch Citizen Scientist Training

Established by Governor Pat Quinn in 2006, this program was designed to train “citizen scientists” to test and monitor Illinois waterways.  Trainees will learn to collect high quality scientific data that will be used by professionals and the general publics to gauge long-term trends in stream health, land management, indentify degraded waters and asses restoration projects.  Cost $54.  Contact Nate Keener at or 618.468.2782 to register.
