JWCC Workforce Programs to Host Business Lunch and Learn

Tue. 14th of Oct. 2014 at 11:30 am

As part of John Wood Community College’s outreach with business and workforce partners, the college will host a lunch and learn program Tuesday, October 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at JWCC’s Workforce Development Center at 4220 Kochs Lane in Quincy.

Each day, 10,000 Baby Boomers turn 65 and are eligible for retirement. There are 27.25 million fewer Gen X’ers than Baby Boomers. The demographic reality means that companies may not be able to find the talent needed to fill critical roles in their organizations. This, combined with the fact that our colleges are graduating 38% fewer people than predicted market needs, implies that every business will soon be engaged in a war for talent.

This workshop is an opportunity to learn more about the upcoming “Talent Wars” and the strategies that can be used to win them! Business owners, leaders, HR professionals, and recruiters are encouraged to attend.

Cost for the lunch and learn is $30, which includes lunch and all training materials. Contact Kelly Lewis, JWCC workforce development specialist, at 641.4971 or Gordon Forbes, JWCC outreach coordinator, at 641.4929 to register.
