Gwenda Pollard, MSN Ed, RN-BC, will present An Overview: Nursing to provide nurses and nursing students with a better understanding of psychiatric/mental health disorders, treatment modalities and nursing care. The seminar’s content will be organized according to the nursing process and will include information on therapeutic communication, personality development, defense mechanisms, psychopharmacology and NCLEX-style testing.

Pollard is board certified in mental health, has taught practical nursing for 23 years and has worked clinically in psychiatric/mental health nursing for 31 years.
