Parents of students who will attend John Wood Community College for the first time this fall are invited to attend a Parent Orientation program Tuesday, July 31, at JWCC.
Designed especially for parents of new, traditional age freshmen attending JWCC this fall, the program will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Mary Ellen Orr Auditorium in the lower level of the Paul Heath Center on the JWCC campus, 48th and Harrison. Reservations are not required.
This program is designed to prepare the parents for what to expect with a student in college for the first time. Parents can learn about such topics as academic advising, student life opportunities for their freshman, financial aid, support services available to JWCC students and what the student can expect in the college classroom.
In addition to a brief program, the evening will include an opportunity to visit one-on-one with staff from various departments of the College, including financial aid, admissions, instruction and advising services. Attendees also may take tours of the campus if they wish.
Anyone wanting more information may call JWCC’s Enrollment Services at 217.224.6500 or Lee Wibbell, director of admissions, at 217.641.4314.
