Santa at the SEC

Fri. 6th of Dec. 2019 at 5:00 pm

John Wood Community College’s Southeast Education Center (SEC) will host Santa Claus on Friday, Dec. 6, from 5 to 7 p.m.  The event is free to the public.

Children of all ages are welcome to visit Santa and have their photos taken with him. Staff from the SEC will take photos and post them on the SEC’s Facebook page with permission.  Parents and guardians are welcome to take their own photos.

The JWCC and Pike County Rotaract Club is co-sponsoring the event and will have a donation box available. Proceeds will benefit the Sleep in Heavenly Peace bedding drive. The bedding drive is in collaboration with the non-profit organization based in Liberty that constructs bunk beds for children who do not have their own bed to sleep in each night.  The organization’s goal is to distribute 15,000 bunk beds.

JWCC’s Rotaract Club is also collecting new twin size sheets, pillows, blankets, comforters and mattress covers to be delivered with the new beds built by Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18-30 to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to serve their communities.
