JWCC Webmail Off-Campus AccessOutlook Web App

There are some people who are having trouble with their email "freezing" from the website. They can't click on anything else besides the email that is at the top of the list. We have different solutions for each version of windows and browsers.

These are only recommendations to solve an issue with Outlook Web App within the jwcc.edu website. Please use at your own risk! JWCC will not be liable for any damage that might occur to your computer if you continue to browse other websites with the following modifications to your browser settings.


Windows XP\Windows Vista and IE7
We highly recommend you upgrade to Internet Explorer 8 by clicking here to download and install.

Windowx XP and IE 8

    Option 1 (recommended)

    Add jwcc.edu to your Trusted Sites

    Option 2 (only use of Option 1 does not work)

    View jwcc.edu in “compatibility mode”.
    To view a site in compatibility mode, do the following:
    1 – Go to the site
    2 – Click on tools -> compatibility view settings
    3 –the website should already be listed in the top white box. All you need to do is to click “add” to add it to the list. It will then be listed in the box labeled: “websites you’ve added to Compatibility View”.
    4 – click close.
    5 –the website should now be in “compatibility view mode”.

If that does not work for you, please let us know so we can come up with another solution.

Window Vista\Windows 7 and IE 8

    Option 1 (recommended)

    Add jwcc.edu to your Trusted Sites

    Option 2 (only use of Option 1 does not work)

    turn off "protected mode" and use “compatibility mode”  for jwcc.edu.

    You will need to do the following steps to turn off “protected mode”:
    1 – open IE
    2 –click on tools -> internet options
    3 –click on the security tab
    4 –in the middle of the window, there should be a check box that says “enable protected mode”. Make sure that is unchecked.
    5 –click apply and restart IE.
    6 – follow steps below for compatibility view

    To view a site in compatibility mode, do the following:
    1 – Go to the site jwcc.edu
    2 – Click on tools -> compatibility view settings
    3 –the website should already be listed in the top white box. All you need to do is to click “add” to add it to the list. It will then be listed in the box labeled: “websites you’ve added to Compatibility View”.
    4 – click close.
    5 –the website should now be in “compatibility view mode”.
