Job Description

The Junior Accountant will report to the Controller and Chief Financial Officer.  The Junior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that all Whitetail Properties accounting related business is conducted in a professional, concise, and timely manner.  This will be accomplished through several means such as financial spreadsheets related to agent and customer accounts, preparing financial statements, tracking accounts payable/receivable, consistent interaction with external vendors, and product inventory. 

Responsibilities

The employee must demonstrate the following:

  1. Main Activities and Duties:
  • Keep accurate and organized records for multiple accounts
  • Maintain positive customer relationships through written and verbal communication
  • Solve issues that may arise related to bookkeeping records, billing, and scheduling of deliveries
  • Update and create spreadsheets containing information related to farm management, local television accounts, and soft good/sponsorship products
  • Communicate with office staff in matters related to local television, soft and sponsorship goods, and farm management
  • Follow up with salesmen and customers on delinquent accounts
  • Address confrontation & issues related to bookkeeping and collections
  • File television contracts, track renewal dates, and notify the appropriate administrator regarding these dates
  1. Perform other duties as required.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Knowledge

The employee must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

  • BS, BA or BB from an accredited 4-year institution
  • Minimum of 3-4 yrs. experience (recent preferred) in finance or accounting
  • Understanding of QuickBooks and how to navigate the program
  • Best accounting practices and any legalities related to these practices
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and Google Doc
  • Accounts payable & receivable
  • Bookkeeping standards and practices

The employee must demonstrate the following skills:

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy regarding data entry and recordkeeping
  • Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks and able to see to completion
  • Strong ability to communicate with a wide variety of personalities
  • Effective problem solving skills with a variety of projects and people at the same time

  • Ability to uphold established policies and procedures
  • Ability to explain an issue multiple ways when needed so that the customer has a clear understanding of what is needing to be resolved
  • Ability to see a need and create a process for this with minimal direction
  • Ability to work under pressure and timelines
  • Computer skills which include, but may not be limited to accounting software, spreadsheets, word processing, internet navigation, electronic calendars and email
