Job Description

The Debit Card/Fraud Specialist is directly responsible for being the primary point of contact and providing telephone customer service support/assistance to customers and employees in regards to debit card / fraud questions. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager.
  • Posts and conducts maintenance on Shazam cards issued, travel notices, new card orders, card activations/deactivations
  • Monitors renewals and closes out dormant accounts as needed
  • Tracks and Monitors all debit card disputes, processes provisional credits in a timely manner, and meets all deadlines required by Reg E, Shazam, and Visa
  • Educates customers on bank fraud and account safety
  • Reviews each fraud claim to determine if the transaction was actually fraudulent, and follows company Standard Operating Procedures for handling a disputed claim
  • Provides written reports to the Accounting Manager if the bank incurs a loss due to fraud
  • Performs as a Back-Up to ACH Cash Management Payroll
  • Performs as a Back-Up to e-Services
  • Performs administrative duties as assigned,(i.e) balancing Bill Pay Account, General Ledger Descriptions, Jot Form Monitoring, CoreIQ Daily Delinquent Letters, assisting with Accounts Payable.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
A high school diploma or equivalent; A minimum of 1 year experience in bookkeeping, customer service, help desk, and/or an operations function is required – preferably in a Bank environment
Ability to sit/stand/kneel/bend/for extended periods of time, lift up to 20 lbs on occasion, ability to work under high pressure while remaining composed; the ability to utilize a computer & keyboard 80% of the time, possess a high level of accuracy, and have the ability to meet deadlines
Knowledge in banking is helpful, as is bank bookkeeping and/or accounting techniques and procedures. Proficiency with standard office equipment, Microsoft Office products, attention to detail, time management, ability to prioritize, organize, and problem solving are required.
