This is a temporary summer position for May 26 to July 2, 2020. Upward Bound is a federally funded educational opportunity program that prepares eligible high school students to enter and succeed in post-secondary education. The six-week summer program includes academic, cultural and recreational activities. This position may fulfill PAID INTERNSHIP requirements for the following majors: Education, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Hospitality/Event Planning, Recreation, Parks Tourism, Administration (RPTA) or related majors. Please refer this position to your University’s internship coordinator.
Under direct supervision of the UB Program Manager, the Evening Supervisor is responsible for supervising and ensuring the well-being and safety of approximately 25 high school students in grades 9-12 including the health, morale, discipline, interpersonal relationships within the group and the way this is applicable to their studies. The Evening Supervisor will be considered part of the administrative team and is expected to ensure Resident Assistant Mentors are following UB Staff Policies & Procedures, and consult with the UB Administrative Staff to assist with individual student and staff needs. The UB Evening Supervisor will live in the resident hall to provide supervision for students and Resident Assistant Mentors, as well as be responsible for completing documentation of all activities, contacts and discipline during evening activities, meals, field trips, study assistance, leadership development, and residence life programming. Applicants must be willing to interact with, make a positive impact, and demonstrate leadership to high school students and Resident Assistant Mentors.
The Summer Program Evening Supervisor will be required to attend all 6 weeks of the program.

Salary will be a stipend of $2500 for six weeks, paid bi-weekly for 3 pay periods; FREE Housing, Meals, and Admission Tickets for outings while working during the program.
