Job Description

This is a part-time, non-exempt, grant funded position that reports to the Manager of Adult Education and is located at the main campus in Quincy, Illinois.  Position begins immediately.

This position coordinates Literacy Services through the Adult Volunteer Literacy grant which offers free one-to-one tutoring for eligible adult learners in the JWCC district.   Responsibilities include:

  • Recruit and train volunteer tutors. Provide tutor training and ongoing professional development for tutors.
  • Recruit adult learners. Match eligible learners with tutors.  Provide follow-up support to both tutors and learners.
  • Assist with marketing program services throughout the JWCC district.
  • Identify resource materials for the program.
  • Provide oversight of the program for grant compliance.

 

Part-time positions are flexible and may work up to 28 hours per week. Primary hours would be during normal business hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field. Must be available to travel to all JWCC education centers.

 

SALARY

Salary is $20.00 per hour.
