The Quincy/Adams County 9-1-1 Communications Center is a 24 hour, 7 day per week operation serving agencies including the Quincy Police Department, the Quincy Fire Department, Tri-Township Fire Department, Adams County Rural Fire Departments, the Adams County Ambulance Service and the Adams County Sheriff’s Department. The Center is seeking 9-1-1 telecommunicator applicants that have the desire to work in an exciting, challenging and rewarding career field.
Telecommunicator job duties include but are not limited to, answering 9-1-1 telephones, transmitting vital information to emergency personnel via the radio, relaying information via the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and answering administrative phone lines. Telecommunicator starting wages are $17.12 per hour. Additional benefits include an IMRF retirement plan as well as insurance packages for medical, dental and life.
