WCI Nutrition Project
Our kitchen is headquarters for Meals on Wheels and much more. We serve 6 counties in the surrounding area, along with our own supportive living facility at the senior center. Our kitchen also does caterings for large and small parties.
Participate in all areas of food production. Review production schedule to determine menu requirements, including variety and quantity of food for production. Assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily food production. Help to control food cost.
Food production – Prepares and serves food using standardized recipes. Follows planned menu, and production schedule. Insures that food is appetizing and served in an attractive manner preserving the quality.
Learn serving portions within nutrition guidelines and standards for therapeutic diets.
Prepares, stores, and disposes of food using proper food handling, labeling, and safety techniques. Insures food is maintained within temperature guidelines.
Work to communicate with managers and other staff, follow directions and recipes, and ask questions if clarification is needed. Strong organizational skills.
This is a great position for someone that loves to cook, is organized, reliable, and communicates well with those in the kitchen.
The job is a full time position. Some weekends required. Insurance, 401K matching, paid time off, and other benefits apply.
