Job Description

Status: Full-time – Non-Exempt                       Location: Shelter

Accountability: COO – DV                               Program: Domestic Violence

Work Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 11am-7pm, rotating on-call duties

Salary: $45,000/year

Function of Position

Provide a shelter experience that is sensitive to the nutritional needs of clients and advances delivery of trauma-informed care

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Food Manger Certification achieved within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum of one year of experience with cooking in a restaurant or institutional setting
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Passion and alignment with Quanada’s mission and values
  • COVID-19 vaccination required

Essential Responsibilities and Job Duties

Prepare nutritionally balanced dinners for shelter clients (3-18 people)

Ensure kitchen is stocked with appropriate food supplies for breakfast/lunch/snacks

Consult with incoming clients regarding any dietary restrictions and preferences

Maintain the kitchen in clean and sanitary order

Perform light housekeeping duties in other areas of the shelter

Participate in voluntary support services offered to clients

Assist with food pantry activities

Other duties that support the mission of Quanada
