Full-time position for someone to help a disabled man and a disabled women with their activities of daily living (ADL). Tasks include meal preparation & cleanup, house cleaning, laundry, shopping, dressing, errands, etc. Basically, the kinds of things you do for yourself on a daily basis. In addition to ADLs, you will be assisting with patient transfers and doing medication management. The position is an in-home position requiring a great deal of compassion, honesty, and trust.
The successful candidate will be able to pass a background check, have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record. Due to the dietary restrictions of the clients, candidate must have successful experience in cooking from recipes. This position requires more than open-the-box-and-microwave-it cooking experience. Though a vehicle is not required, the client’s home is in NE Quincy just outside of the City of Quincy bus service. Candidate must have a reliable way to get to/from work.
This is a full-time position working days Mon-Fri for about 40-45 hours per week. Your start/stop times can vary slightly to accommodate your schedule as long as the client’s needs are being met. Clients have successfully worked with JWCC students in the past. Pay is currently $16.50/hour going to $17.25/hour on Dec 1, 2022. Health insurance is available for those who can maintain working a minimum of 30 hours per week. Anyone can apply, but this is an ideal and very complimentary position for any student pursuing a degree in the Health Sciences area.
