The Head eSports Coach is responsible for leading the eSports program in the highly competitive National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAAe). This is a temporary, part-time position located on the John Wood Community College (JWCC) campus in Quincy, Illinois. Position begins upon availability and ends July 31, 2022. Contract is renewable.
John Wood Community College is home to eight intercollegiate athletic programs, three men’s and four women’s teams that compete in Region 24 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC) and an eSports program that competes within the NJCAAe. eSports was added in the Fall of 2020 to the athletic department and garnered national attention in multiple gaming titles.
Applicants should possess a variety of gaming strategy, knowledge and a solid ability to teach and communicate this knowledge. Other duties include but are not limited to; recruiting, eSports facility design and monitoring, public relations, and team building.
Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education, preferred. Experience coaching and/or playing in eSports. Prior coaching experience preferred.
